There is now support for links in the hook_menu conversion routine (link conversion is now delegated to yet another plugin type). I've got support for MENU_NORMAL_ITEM, MENU_LOCAL_TASK/MENU_DEFAULT_LOCAL_TASK, and MENU_LOCAL_ACTION (including contextual links). It's not really tested, but it at least produces YAML.
