Hello, I just began implementing drupalgap on a test website since some weeks. I've red the tutorial on drupalgap.org and installed all the needed components:
drupalgap module for drupal 7, version 7.x-1.10+5-dev, on a separated virtual machine
nodejs v0.10.36
cordova 4.2.0
latest android sdk for linux
openjdk-8
optionally latest eclipse ide
Then I've created a cordova project, added android platform, run the quick test on an android emulator and it worked as expectet, showing the "device connected" banner
Then I've added to the same project the cordova plugins as shown in the howto, and overwritten the www folder with the one downloaded from my drupal website; set drupal.settings.mode=phonegap in settings.js (also pointed the url to the IP of my virtual machine where drupal is hosted), used cordova.index.html as index.html (but even using the original index.html doesn't change the result), issued the commands cordova build, cordova prepare & cordova run android. Well what I get is just the blue logo of drupalgap... I get the sam result by using DrupalGap-7.x-1.0-rc5 instead of the www folder of my drupal installation.
If I use instead drupal.settings.mode=web-app, use default.index.html, rebuild & run emulator, I get the right view, with menus, login button etc, I can create and edit content on my website...
The same results appear if I load the apk on mi asus mini pad instead of the android emulator.
In the first case it looks like no javascript is loaded, or maybe a wrong version of some package, or maybe I should edit some file, but I really don't know what's wrong, maybe I've missed something obvious which is not like that for me. I want to point out that I'm completely noob about js & creating apps in general but I'm slowly trying to learn, while I know drupal. Thank you.

tyler.frankenstein commentedDid you install the PhoneGap/cordova plugins?
kinmen commentedYes, from the project folder I've issued the command
cordova plugin add org.apache.cordova.console org.apache.cordova.device org.apache.cordova.dialogs org.apache.cordova.file org.apache.cordova.inappbrowser org.apache.cordova.network-information org.apache.cordova.camera org.apache.cordova.geolocation
Plugins appear inside the plugin folder of my cordova project
Thank you

tyler.frankenstein commentedYou can try updating to the latest dev snapshots of the module, SDK, and jDrupal. Then update your index.html file(s) to point to these new versions. Otherwise try using openjdk-6, because I am not able to even use 7 and get it to compile properly.
Either way, I believe you are experiencing a white screen of death (wsod) problem (eventhough the wsod is no longer possible since the splash screen will always shows). I'd recommend looking into DrupalGap WSOD resolution techniques.
And no matter what, you need to set debug to true in settings.js file, and then watch the console.log output to see when/where it is failing.

kinmen commentedThank you. I'll do as you suggest and next week I'l report the result.
kinmen commentedOk, I've updated cordova to version 4.3 and now it works. Thanks a lot for the help. You can close the issue.
