Note: I am running 4.4.1, but I can't specify that as the version, so I have specified "cvs" for now.
When I click on "My account" I can see all the profile fields that have been added (eg. Country, Home page etc).
However, when I click "Edit account", those fields do not appear on the form.
I believe it is a problem in the way the user module calls the profile module to add form fields. _user_profile is passing "edit" to all modules' "user" hook, but profile_user only adds fields if the $type parameter is "form".
Is this a bug? Or have I missed something obvious?

mabster commentedSome more info on this one:
If I visit /index.php?q=user/edit on my site, I can edit all the extra fields.
However, if I visit /index.php?q=user/edit/2 (I am user #2) then I cannot see the extra fields.
The 'edit account' on the main 'my account' page takes me to the first link above. However, the 'edit account' menu item in the navigation block takes me to the second.

mabster commentedI think I am beginning to understand this now.
Normal users don't see the "edit account" link on the main page. That's for *administrators* to edit the user account.
So I guess the issue is that administrators cannot edit the extra profile fields. I will amend the title of this issue accordingly.
