Apologies if this has been posted in the wrong area - feel free to move to somewhere appropriate!
My client has a number of datasources of widely varying formats, inlcuding (but not limited to) PDFs, Access DBs, word documents, MySQL databases and some proprietary formats. They would like to be able to view these sources from a single point and have other web-based drupal tools which they would like to integrate with this viewpoint.
We have heard many things about Talend and how we could use it to build an Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) layer (searching drupal.org did not return any hits) to sit between the data and a presentation layer in Drupal. Its worth mentioning we only need to read from the data, not write to it, so that might make it a tad easier...?
Cheers!

texas-bronius commentedI would say this isn't so much a support request as a forum post (both of which will be equally ignored). Have you gotten anywhere with your research?
I've used Talend Open Studio on other projects and am head-over for it. I am interested in using TOS to go between an online distributor's web services and drupal cck via cck nodes generated on the fly. Let's keep in touch and see who can tackle this first-- our needs and solutions sound similar.
