I have a new site setup exclusive for members of our organisation. This means that everybody needs to apply for an account that needs to be validated by the site administrator.

When a new user creates an account there is a form to be filled in containing the basic data needed for an account and some extra profile-data requested by the site administrator via the profile module. When this data is filled in, the user hits the submit button. After that the user gets a respose on the screen that the input is forwarded to the site administrator and that he will receive an email containing the login data. Below this message the input form thats needs to be filled in for a new account is presented again. When this happens, lots of users think the registration did not complete and fill in the registration form again.

yup, this is annoying and potentially confusing. i'm not 100% sure i'd call it a "bug", but i'll leave it that way for now. anyway, now that the 4.7.0 release is out, we're trying to reclassify all the issues that are still marked as either "RC*" or "beta*", so i'm setting this to 6.7.0. this is an important area of drupal usability that i'd like to help out with, so i'd also be interested in any futher activity in this issue...

@dww: any news about this?

dww’s picture

haven't had any time to work on this. too busy with more important things. i'm not sure i'd call it a feature, either, but i won't push it on this issue. ;)

thanks for caring,

My mistake. This is a bug :-p Must heck if it is still reproducible in HEAD

I failed to reproduce this in HEAD. After filling in teh form I'm redirect to / and a drupal_set_message() tells me:-
"Your password and further instructions have been sent to your e-mail address."

Seems fixed in HEAD to me.
