kjy07 commentedRelatively minor as uploads still proceed without error and normal error reporting usually suppresses notices.
In any event, the attached patch should remedy the problem.

mgiffordInteresting.. It does apply against head. But I get "Error message
Validation error, please try again. If this error persists, please contact the site administrator."
Every time on every form. Makes it less than useful for sure.
