Problem/Motivation

This is a related issue that got identified during the review of #3621776-13: File video formatter summary can pass NULL placeholder values to StringTranslation by the usability group in #3625965: Drupal Usability Meeting 2026-10-02

Problem is if you are clearing either the "maximum width" and/or the "maximum height" of a media field of the "remote video" media type on the manage display page. that leads into a WSOD within the corresponding iframe in the frontend with the following error message Input value "max width" cannot be converted to "int"

a browser window on the left hand of the screen in dark mode displaying a media itme but instead of the image a white screen of death with an error message within, on the right hand another browser window in the default admin theme in dark mode showing the manage display format settings for this field and the maximum width and height fields cleared

Steps to reproduce

  • Create a content type
  • add a media field and check the "remote video" checkbox on the field settings page
  • go to the "manage display" page and edit the media field
  • clear either the maximum width field and/or the maximum height field and update the field format settings and save.
  • go to the front end and try to display the media item

Proposed resolution

Fix the WSOD and due to the fact that the patterns used for the micro copy are related to the issue we've discovered the WSOD within the iframe, also align the micro copy in the same manner recommended on the other issue #3621776-13: File video formatter summary can pass NULL placeholder values to StringTranslation
