When installing from scratch (with softaculous), a new installation of Drupal 8.9.1 crashes after saving a new default language (in my case Dutch). As from then, all admin links report error-500. Therefore no more administration acts are possible anymore.
I encountered this issue several times, as I have tried to re-install (upon re-install) until I quit trying. PHP version is 7.3.

Hello,

I've tried a clean install again. Now with only the theme as a composer installation.
Changing the language, the 500 error reappears. The error_log of the drupal installation says :
"[30-Jun-2020 17:26:25 UTC] Uncaught PHP Exception Drupal\Core\Database\InvalidQueryException: "Query condition 'users_field_data.mail IN ()' cannot be empty." at /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/core/lib/Drupal/Core/Database/Query/Condition.php line 105"
On the web server error log :
"[Tue Jun 30 18:20:30.802717 2020] [authz_core:error] [pid 23178:tid 47313241970432] [client 2a00:f10:305:0:1c00:8cff:fe00:445:43488] AH01630: client denied by server configuration: /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/error_log"

I tried installing Drupal 8.9.1 (PHP Version 7.3) with default language as dutch and installed another instance and then change the default language as Dutch.
I did not get any issue in both the installations.

Version: 8.9.x-dev » 9.2.x-dev

Drupal 8 is end-of-life as of November 17, 2021. There will not be further changes made to Drupal 8. Bugfixes are now made to the 9.3.x and higher branches only. For more information see the Drupal core minor version schedule and the Allowed changes during the Drupal core release cycle.

@cilefen, thanks for the related issue.

Is this issue still a problem? The failure in the IS does not happen on Drupal core (#6) and seems to only happen on softaculous. And the report is on an outdated version of Drupal. Does this happen on a currently supported version of Drupal?

There has been no activity here for 2 years.

Since we need more information to move forward with this issue, I am keeping the status at Postponed (maintainer needs more info). If we don't receive additional information to help with the issue, it may be closed after three months.

Thanks!

Version: 9.3.x-dev » 9.4.x-dev

Drupal 9.3.15 was released on June 1st, 2022 and is the final full bugfix release for the Drupal 9.3.x series. Drupal 9.3.x will not receive any further development aside from security fixes. Drupal 9 bug reports should be targeted for the 9.4.x-dev branch from now on, and new development or disruptive changes should be targeted for the 9.5.x-dev branch. For more information see the Drupal core minor version schedule and the Allowed changes during the Drupal core release cycle.

Status: Postponed (maintainer needs more info) » Closed (cannot reproduce)

I tried reproducing this issue on a fresh install of Drupal 9.5.x-dev. I installed Drupal using PHP version 7.3, 7.4 and 8.1, selecting either English or Dutch as the default language. Whatever I try, I cannot seem to recreate the error/crash described in the issue summary above.

There have not been any follow-ups on this issue since comment #9, which was posted more than 4 months ago. Therefore I am changing the status of this issue to Closed (cannot reproduce).

If this issue does persist for the OP (or others), feel free to reopen this issue and please do post your additional findings in a comment below.
