I upgraded my website to Drupal version 7.65. I am getting this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'catch' (T_CATCH) in .../includes/bootstrap.inc on line 957

with both PHP versions 5.6 and 7.2 (I tried both PHP versions). Couldn't find any documentation on the issue. Please advise if you have had the same issue.

There is not a catch on that line. I think your codebase is altered. Download Drupal core again.

Hi, thank you for your comment. I saw a lot of posts saying to try changing my PHP version. That didn't help.

Replacing my Drupal 7.67 /includes/bootstrap.inc file with your (the one in the link you provided above) Drupal 7.68-dev /includes/bootstrap.inc file did the trick.

It appears like you said the update was incomplete. Some core files were older, some were newer. Re-running the Drupal core update resolved everything.
