raphaeltbm commentedIt's the current default behaviour when you define an "entity" or "view" or whatever having an internal path or an aliased URL as the frontpage. You can access it with different URL.
Example: if you define "node/8", aliased "/my-frontpage" as the frontpage, you can access "/node/8", "/my-frontpage" and "/", all the 3 displaying the same thing.
If you want to allow only 1 of those URLs to be accessible (canonical like), you should take a look to a module like "redirect" to force the redirection to a proper and unique URL. In your case, you will never have access to "/frontpage" with your browser, but be redirected to "/".
