Problem/Motivation

Splitting the parent issue into smaller tasks.

This is about adding a new section in the documentation for Contributing to migrate, outlined below.

Contributing (new)
Testing migrations (new)
Things to look out for in D6 and D7 (new)
How to report your findings (new)

Not sure if "Things to look out for in D6 and D7 (new)" means the same as the "Know issues" page.

Proposed resolution

As above created a new section that introduces how to contribute to migrate.

How about this: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1c-Ob21DoBRxZy8qtqilKY0BUMD9N7PpINtwb...

  • The link is world-editable at the moment

I propose that this would be copied as a new child page to https://www.drupal.org/docs/8/upgrade

@masipila, what an awesome read! Very thorough and clear.

The changes I have made are mostly about changing 'migrate' to 'upgrade' and a few minor tweaks for readability. I changed migrate to upgrade until the mention of adding an issue, where the component is 'migration system'. That seemed like a natural break to move to using 'migrate' instead of 'upgrade'.

I added the page https://www.drupal.org/docs/8/upgrade/contributing-to-migrate

Leaving this to Needs Work until the page has been added to the navigation of the guide. I need to wait to get the guide maintainer rights to do this.

I now got the guide maintainer rights to Upgrade to Drupal 8 guide and I added this new page to the navigation, see https://www.drupal.org/docs/8/upgrade/contributing-to-migrate

quietone reviewed this documentation already earlier in the Google Docs phase so I'm updating this directly to Fixed.
