I don't know enough about how to code modules and such to make one of these. But I think it would be nifty thing if we had a module that let us have a ring hub and linked sites. Also it would be nice to not have to rely on another parties ring hosting. Though if someone makes this module it would be nice if sites that use the ring code can set font colours or table background colours. That was a problem with webring.com as depending on the rings maintainer some text was invisible on sites with light or dark backgrounds as they were only aimed at one or the other.

Any thoughts? If it doesn't exist could be a nice feature to connect sites under the same community.

The idea, I think, is to go a bit further of the "distributed authentication" and have a block that shows a navigation for the sites in the same community.

This was also discussed here, but nothing seems to have come of it. I would love to see such a module developed. I am trying the new links package, but the blocks don't work at all.

This screams "CONTRIB MODULE!" to me.

However, I don't think anyone's actually made one.
