Hi all,

We planned to create a bank loan application using Drupal 7. The Application does have any own users records, it completely depends on external service provider.

For eg: When we login in the application, The username and pass should hit the service provider and fetch the result from the provider and then Login into application.

Kindly suggest me how to implement the web-services in the drupal 7. What type of modules i need to use for web services. I need to do CURD(Create update read and delete) operations using web services.
Finally Drupal 7 is feasible for this application. Help and suggestion needed. Thanks a lot...

You can access and provide XML-RPC services easily with Drupal core. Examples have been crafted to show exactly how in the Examples module, which you may want to develop.

But this is strictly a transport and session service, not an application service like CRUD handling.

Beyond that, you can also look at

  • the contrib http://drupal.org/project/restws RESTWS module. It exposes Drupal entities CRUD services on top of Entity API, but does so only on top of RESTful services, not XML-RPC or SOAP
  • the contrib Services module suite. It uses the core XML-RPC service, can also make use of other transports like SOAP or REST, and provides a way to integrate authentication services. But AFAIK it does not offer application-level services like RESTWS
