Can you provide more information? Unable to reproduce this error as I have the link to "Add New Forum Topic". Noticed another ticket was opened for this issue (http://drupal.org/node/1109320).

Please do not close this topic as the issue actually applies to the core forum module, so it is not a duplicate.

The only thing I can think of, is that I disabled the Forum module after enabling it. I had an issue with the drag-n-drop core functionality and I was looking for anything that may cause it to not function.

Then I enabled the core Forum module again and now I don't have the link to post new forum topic. I installed the AF on a test site and there I get the link again, but only with the AF module.

I came across similar issue on the forum, for a different version of Drupal, but I couldn't quite follow the solution. This seems to be a bug.
