Currently elements returned by an AHAH callback are ignored by ahah.js jquery.
Also, form_expand_ahah is not called on any new elements added to the form

I have working changes to ahah.js, and have modified my ahah callbacks to provide the extra information required.

Could do with some pointers on how to integrate this properly with the php backend.
An extra php function in form.inc to perform the same behaviour as form_expand_ahah, but send information to ahah.js rather than use drupal_add_js

Is this still an issue in D7?
Is this a useful feature? I have found it so.

Oh, it would be possible to create a module that provided the php functionality and post-wise managed all the ahah XMLHTTPREQUESTS.
Developer would then be required to use the php module to wrap whatever JSON they were intending to return

There will be no new features in D6 of course. Or really in D7. If this is a bug, move it to D7. If it's a feature request, move it to D8.

If I understand the gist of what you're saying (ahah behaviors are lost off of replaced elements) I think you'll find D7 is much better.

I'm moving it, but you can move back wherever you want. Please close it out if you're happy with D7.

I do remember seeing a writeup on how to do this in D6; I think you have to add a pre-render on the element... Sorry I don't remember. I think it might work in D7.

Drupal 8.0.6 was released on April 6 and is the final bugfix release for the Drupal 8.0.x series. Drupal 8.0.x will not receive any further development aside from security fixes. Drupal 8.1.0-rc1 is now available and sites should prepare to update to 8.1.0.

Bug reports should be targeted against the 8.1.x-dev branch from now on, and new development or disruptive changes should be targeted against the 8.2.x-dev branch. For more information see the Drupal 8 minor version schedule and the Allowed changes during the Drupal 8 release cycle.
