First. I can't sybmit story description in russian.
Second. I can submit story description in latvian using special character ļāčīķšēŗōņčž but when I click on the title i am redirected to category. I am using Step 5: Nice aliases

I don't think I can do anything at all about your inability to submit stories in russian: do you have the same problem with ANY node type?

Hi,

I am going to close this for lack of follow-up.
However, if somebody out there has the same problem, and is going to actually stick around, please let me know.

HOWEVER! Please note that there was a bug in the DB creation, which was created as latin-1 (silly me). A possible fix is:

ALTER TABLE drigg_node DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8;

Now... please be careful and backup your DB before doing this, because it is potentially dangerous. However, it might well be the fix to the issues above.
