headkit commenteddev 2.x still doesn't work with views 3.3+
Comment #3
gunwald commentedI can confirm this bug. Here are the steps to reproduce:
1) Create a view and make it draggable by adding the field »Draggableviews: Content (Content)«
2) Add »Draggableviews: Weight (asc)« as first sort criteria
If the view has the table style it'll work well, but:
2) Create an other view which shows same content
3) Add »Draggableviews: Weight (asc)« as first sort criteria and choose for »Display sort as« the view we created in step 1–2
The so set sort criteria will be ignored. (7.x-2.0)

istryker commented#1. In a 'table', if you have a default sort on anything it won't work. There has to be no default sort.
#2. Theres a bug with how you create it. You must
If you don't do this then the 'other view/display' will be assign to ['self']. I believe you can verify this by exporting the view and do a search for ['self']. (Untested. If someone test this and can confirm, please post a reply).
If screwed up, go back into your 'other view/display' and open up the sort. Click Apply to resave the settings, then Click Save to save the view. You should be good now. If you do this and your site break and/or you get an ajax error see #1765760: Views ajax error when you click 'update preview' or draggableviews:weight sort. There was a bug introduced into dev Aug 8th, 2012.
If you are reading this and have time test everything I mention, can you post a reply. I think #2 should open as another issue, however I haven't tested all the variables (ie with native weight vs. field weight api).
I believe this is a critical issue considering there is no documentation or testing done.
istryker commentedCan we move this issue to 7.x-2.0 or 7.x-2.x-dev. Is this issue solved in any of those versions?
ChristianP commentedYes, I can confirm this bug that is mentioned in #4.
I have a view called Adminpanel where I manage the content - kind of like a Views Bulk.
I also have a connective view called Slideshow where the slides are supposed to be sorted from what order is used in the Adminpanel draggable table interface.
I added the DraggableViews fields and weight but the sorting in my Slideshow did not apply when I applied it in the Adminpanel. (This worked in Drupal 6)
So I did what #4 said, I exported my Slideshow view and sure enough I found this line:
$handler->display->display_options['sorts']['weight']['draggableviews_setting_view'] = 'self';So I went back to the Adminpanel view and re-saved the sorting of the DraggableViews weight field and chose "All displays" and it worked. I can now sort from the Adminpanel table and the Slideshow images will follow.
However, as soon as I re-saved the Slideshow view for other purposes it reseted back to the earlier settings and now it doesn't work - again. And now the re-saving of the DraggableViews weight field in Adminpanel doesn't work again because the above code line looks like this now:
$handler->display->display_options['sorts']['weight']['draggableviews_setting_view'] = 'Slideshow:page';I don't know how to override this. So I guess it's a bug.
Edit: Okay! That's weird, look what I found in the Dropdown menu for choosing what view the weight field should use:

When I chose the other "Adminpanel" it worked again, so I guess it's because the view had the same name as the other one? I don't know.
Edit 2: Ahh, it still resets if I re-save the Slideshow view... Ah well.

istryker commentedMaking this as duplicate of #1302188: Draggable Table Not Saving Order in 7.x-2.0
Comment #8
issa.haddadinHello,
I re-opened this issue as it still happening on the stable version 7.x-2.1 and also on the dev version 7.x-2.x-dev (7.x-2.1+9-dev to be more specific).
I don't think it's related to (#1302188: Draggable Table Not Saving Order in 7.x-2.0) as the draggable table saves order correctly but for some reason when you create another view and add (Draggableviews: weight) as a sorting criteria (with no any other sorting criteria with it of course) the new view doesn't get the weight values and due to that the view does not sort probably.
Thanks.

issa.haddadinActually after looking into this it turned out there there is no bug here.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
