Really, really needed is an offline documentation, CHM seems to me the best format. I hope I have overseen that this exists already...

CHM is a Windows proprietary help file format.

There is a PDF for the getting started guide.
There are instructions for generating the print version of each book here: http://drupal.org/node/14279
