sparklingrobotsQuestions still to be answered:
* When do we want to host this?
* How long should it be?
* What tools do we want to use?
I've been running a virtual boardgame night using boardgamearena.com & zoom. We meet in the common room and then break out into smaller rooms to play.
There are also other party-ish games we could try, like Drawful or something like that.

cboyden commentedI've also been hosting board game nights on Board Game Arena and Zoom! Both at work and with friends. We've not needed breakout rooms yet, we've been 7 or fewer which is small enough that we can find a game all can play at once.
The main drawback I see to BGA is that it is heavily mouse-oriented. I will ask around and see if there are more accessible alternatives.
In favor of BGA, they have a wide variety of games in different styles. Only one person per table needs a premium membership to play premium games. And the nice thing about using a game platform rather than just using Zoom and running our own game is that it's less work.

sparklingrobotsYeah, BGA is not the most accessible. I wonder if a party game (perhaps something just played verbally?) or Codenames would be more accessible.

Still looking for more options.

sparklingrobotsI ran across https://www.forthedrama.com, which has a number of light RPG games that play in under an hour. I haven't tested accessibility but the majority of the game is verbal so perhaps it could work for some groups at least.

sparklingrobotsWe had a super fun time playing Six Nimmt on boardgamearena.com.
We used HopIn to organize and for a/v -- worked well and we had about 10 people playing.
Thank you so much for taking point on this, Caroline!
