Problem/Motivation

The last maintainer-led issue completion appears to be the tagging of a stable release (#3034672: Stable 8.x release). Given the amount of time since then and lack of regular activity, it may be time to re-assess maintainers and solicit additional maintainers for the project.

Per a Slack thread in #maintainers:

phenaproxima: I don’t mind committing some easy, low-hanging stuff. I’ve never really been an official maintainer of this module, tbh, but if nobody else is…

dww: I have a bit more bandwidth again these days at $dayjob for community stuff, so I could start doing more. It's been many years since I was actively writing patches or doing things for diff.

briangilbert: It's also been years since I have been actively doing dev on diff, I don't really have the bandwidth anymore.. happy to give access to anyone that wants to pick up maintenance

Proposed resolution

Locate new, potential maintainers based on their contributions to this project and add them as co-maintainers.

Remaining tasks

Interested parties should:

  1. Contribute to issues in this project and demonstrate good practices on issue resolution and maintainer practices.
  2. Reply to this issue with evidence of contributions to the project.
  3. Get added to diff.
