It would be great if folks could submit their selection vote with a single click on a button corresponding to their selection, and then see the results without refreshing the page (yes, AHAH/AJAX).

I already marked another similar issue as "won't fix": #691782: Ajax submission. Since you're the second person requesting this, I guess there's a real need for it. What I'm worried about is that blocks showing results or related decisions wouldn't be updated after the submission and would show an inconsistent picture.

I would nevertheless welcome such a patch, if it works, even if the blocks aren't refreshed...
