Hi there,

i installed everything (inculding the news_item examples) and put the code in the template.php, but no slideshow shows up. I just see the prev/next controls - but thats all. I made a view and created a "page", cause i wanna show up the slideshow in the content area (could that be the problem? Do i have to make create a block in the view?).

In your documentation you write sites/all/themes as the path for the themes. But my general theme-folder is in the themes-folder in the rootlevel of my website.

Any suggests what i did wrong?

You need to create a block display.
You need to create a ddblock instance of this block display

Have a look at the advanced slideshow tutorial or the video tutorial how to install and configure the ddblock module. Have also a look at the troubleshooting part of the FAQ

You can place the custom folder in the themes folder when the theme you use is there
