i have all installed and enabled all prerequites of ddblock.

Also created a featured content type, and a view. 2 nodes created and created an instance using the view.

1) now when i do not use any theme (advance settings unchecked) slideshow shows up but it slides dont change.

2) but when i use a theme say upright 30 it works ( i dont want any theme as there is a text placeholder which has an irritating look in IE and also the entire slide does not link to the node and only readme is clickable)

Is there any way by which i can make option no 1 to work.

You could use a ddblock theme and disable the functionality (don't show text and readmore) in the theme template files and preprocess functions to get your requirements. The module is intended to use with the ddblock themes. You could add a link to the whole slide instead of the readmore button (see how to's). What irritating look are you talking about in IE, Is this the background not being transparent in IE6, see issue http://drupal.org/node/486074 #17 and #20 for alternative images for the text background.

When you don't use a theme normal views-theming would be used to theme the slideshow and you would need another content container in the ddblock configuration page. Normally with a ddblock theme this is the CSS selector div.class, when using views-theming this would need to be something like div.views-row.
