ppblaauw commentedI can not reproduce this in my installation.
You have to use the lesser then (<) and greater then (>) around none.
Putting <none> in the block title of the ddblock block hides the title.
If I put another title it shows this title.
If I put none without < > around it, it displays none as the title
If I leave it empty it uses the original block title.
Is it a basic or an advanced dynamic display block?
If you put none without < > around it, is none displayed?
Does the block name maybe come from another place?
Hope this helps you further. Please let me know?

nstrassner commentedMmm! I am sure your code works. It must be something wierd.
Name given to block: ddblock_main
Block title:
Show only on "node/1"
Page shows up with block and with appropriate pictures, but with "ddblock_main" in bold just above it.
It had this behaviour when I just had this block on a page. Now I tried it in a Mini Panel and the name still shows.
Any clues?

ppblaauw commentedCan you answer the questions I asked in post #1 so I know better where to look.
Please send a link to your website or the page source of the page on my contact form, so I can help you better.
nstrassner commentedSorry about not answering your specific questions, as I should have.
However, I did some more tests and here is what is happening. Your design is correct. My ddblock was on a mini panel and when I just placed it within content, then all the title styles (title or ) do what they are supposed to do. However, when I place the ddblock on a mini panel, the actual name of the block, in this case "ddblock_main" is presented. The title I give it can be placed there and takes the title away.
So, what I have left is: When I put a ddblock on a panel, it displays the name of the block (not the title) above the block.
Page code is attached.

ppblaauw commentedYou make it difficult for me to help more if you don't answer the questions I ask.
I don't have panels installed but I think the block name/title you see comes form the panels module and not from the ddblock module.
Try to find in the panels module how you can override the block name/title.
Hope this helps you further.
nstrassner commentedIf you do not have Panels, I won't bother you anymore on this because your control works as described if they are NOT in a panel.
I will examine the problem from a Panels perspective and see what I can find.
But, to answer your questions before you throw something at me :
Is it a basic or an advanced dynamic display block? Basic
If you put none without < > around it, is none displayed? Nothing is displayed with
Does the block name maybe come from another place? No, it is the block name
So, I will trace this through Panels and see why it is displaying the name of the ddblock.
Thanks for your feedback. I will let you know what I find.

ppblaauw commentedI looked at one of my other drupal test installations with panels. You can override the title in the content tab. Just file in <none> in the override title field, so no title will be shown.
Hope this helps you further. Please let me know.
nstrassner commentedThe very first thing I tried is overriding the title, but apparently it is NOT the title being displayed. It is the actual name of the panel.
Still looking into this...
ppblaauw commentedAny new information?
nstrassner commentedNothing new at this point, except I stopped using Panels and I do not have any other current issues.
Also, just got back from extended trip and am re-grouping and working on other projects as well.
You can close this issue if you like, and thanks for the previous support.
If this comes up again, I will be sure to do a lot more research so I do not waste any of your time!
Thanks again.

dddave commentedHi folks,
this phenomenon about mysteriously occuring titles is a known Panels (2) issue. I have it too from time to time and there is not much you can do about it but hope that Panels 3 doesn't has this problem. You have to go with akward CSS tricks to work around this.

OnthegOinOz commentedNot quite sure what happened with this but I have Panels 3 installed and I am not able to override theblock title with anything (i.e. )
any more recent ideas how to hide the block title?
thanks

dddave commentedUsing the "Override Title" option on the "Content" screen of P3 works well for me. I tick the box and leave the field empty -> no title displayed
