After setting Content Type Setting > Content Type to my custom content type the Content Type Settings > Node drop down asks me to select a Node of my content Type to be displayed. I would like to have DDBlock use some number of the available Nodes of my custom content type in a slide show.

Steps I took:
1. Installed Drupal Core 7.2
2. Installed DDBlock 7.x-1.0-beta1
3. Created custom content type (MyContentType)
4. Added 5 content entries of type MyContentType
5. Created DDBlock
6. Added MyContentType to usable types in Setting Tab
7. Chose to configure new DDBlock
8. Selected Content Settings > Input Type > Content Type
9. Selected Content Settings > Content Type Settings > Content Type > MyContentType
10. Saved Block
11. Reentered DDBlock config
12. Forced to choose a single Node, Selected Contents Settings > Content Type Settings > Node > MyNodeOfType_MyContentType

Any help? Do I need to install the DDBlock 7.x theme, if so where do I install it?

Thanks,
Rey

If you want to use more nodes, you need to use the advanced option of the ddblock module using views, to select the nodes and fields.

When using the advanced option the module uses a default slideshow theme without a pager. Additional slideshow themes can be downloaded from http://ddblock.myalbums.biz (make sure you have the slideshow themes for ddblock drupal 7)

The install.txt file of the module gives more information

Hope this helps you further, please let me know

ppblaauw, I hate to be a bother, but where or how might I enable the "advanced option of the ddblock module using views?" I created my views3 view which takes an image field from my custom content type and displays them, however, this view must be classified as a certain type, if I choose Block, I can select the block to be used in DDBlock > Setting Tab, but alas I still only get the Content Type > Node my custom content type when trying to configure my new DDBlock block?

Thanks much,
REy

You can follow the advanced slideshow tutorial for ddblock drupal 6. http://ddblock.myalbums.biz/node/747
The steps are almost the same, only the drupal 7 module does not use preprocess functions anymore, but mapping of view fields to slideshow theme fields in the configuration page of the ddblock module.

ppblaauw,
Thanks a million, I was trying just clicking Add Display Block, instead of creating a new instance in the instance tab. I really appreciate the answers. I'd like to mention to anyone who runs across this if you are using a default theme, make sure you put the DDBlock custom theme in that themes actual location, so for Drupal 7.2 Theme Bartik, that would be {installpath}/themes/bartik. So you should end up with something like {istallpath}/theme/bartik/custom/modules/ddblock/ddblock-cycle-block-content.tpl.php
{istallpath}/theme/bartik/custom/modules/ddblock/ddblock-cycle-block-content--upright10p.tpl.php
etc

Thanks,
REy
