You can use the upright10 slideshow theme as a basis, which has a number pager.
You can remove the counter from the content template file of the upright10 slideshow theme, so it will not show slide numbers.
You will need to style it in CSS so it looks like the example you give, (add an image for round buttons).

Hope this helps you further, please let me know.

Probably you use the basic options of the ddblock module, seen your other issue.
That will not work with the upright10 slideshow theme (this is for the advanced option of the module).

For the basic option
You will need to copy the ddblock-cycle-block-content.tpl.php file from the module to your theme and adjust the number pager (don't print the number)
Further you need to style it with CSS like said before. (This is standard css styling. Tutorials about css can be found on the internet)
In the ddblock.css file in the folder css of the module you can find how the number pager is styled now.
You can override the styling in your own stylesheet.

ok thank you i have copied and i removed

<a id="prev" class="prev" href="#">Prev</a>
     <a id="next" class="next" href="#">Next</a>

but i'm not sure that is correct code (my php knowledge is zero). but do you think the drupal gardian slide show footer buttons only css b/c it works like navigation next and prev?

line 37 change

<?php print $item_counter; ?>

to

<?php //print $item_counter; ?>

So no number is printed in the pager items.

You need to clear the cache, so drupal is able to find the new tpl.php in the theme.

I clear the cache but i still see the numbers when i apply your code. but when i remove the following line 61 & 62

     <a id="prev" class="prev" href="#">Prev</a>
     <a id="next" class="next" href="#">Next</a>

hope those codes doesn't affect another thing.

Depends which pager you have chosen in the configuration page.
If you have chosen the number pager the number pager will be used.
If you have chosen the prev/next pager the previous/next pager will be used.

For creating the required layout, its better to use the number pager instead of the prev/next pager.

sorry, can not give support for css.
It would be a day job when I start giving css support for slideshow theme requirements.
