My company decided to switch over to the basic version of DD Block, and get rid of the text sliders. Unfortunately, I'm running into issues with it. In IE it looks absolutely horrible for most of the transitions (the entire thing except for a corner in the upper left turns to white and reveals the block title that is normally hidden behind the images), and even in firefox if you look closely you can see the block title behind the images as you transition from one to the other.

How can I fix this?

You can hide the node title in css, e.g.

#ddblock-4 h2{
  display:none;
}

--
the post info (author and date) can be removed in the theme settings.

--
for IE probably the slide needs to have a width and a height

div.slide{
  height:315px;
  width:479px;
}

Hope this helps you further, please let me know.

I can certainly just throw those statements into any CSS file (and in fact work once I've done so), what would be the standards compliant approach to adding module-specific CSS statements like those? I've created a ddblock.css file and put the statements in that, but what's the 'right' approach?

Heavily edited: there are global theme settings as well as theme specific settings. Woops! Your advice works, now I just need to make it standards compliant.
