Problems with formatters other than "as time ago"

Hey there,

I'm currently working on cck_blocks and trying to figure out, why I'm not able to display the content of a date field in a block.

I'm using module_invoke('content', 'format', $fields[$delta], $item, $settings['formatter'], $node) to get the formatted date.

That works for the formatter "as time to go", but not for the others (default, long, medium, short).

Any ideas?
