Drupal 6.10 (everything fresh)

On a local development site I'm having a problem with the date CCK field. When clicking it, nothing shows. Firebug does give an error directly after clicking:

$(this).datepicker is not a function
date_popup()()date_popup.js?f (row 15)
(?)()()jquery.j...e3Q%3D%3D (row 1)
(?)()()jquery.j...e3Q%3D%3D (row 1)
(?)()()jquery.j...e3Q%3D%3D (row 1)
[Break on this error] .datepicker(datePopup.settings)

Could someone help me with this?

Thanks in advance!

I'm having the same issue. This appears not to be theme specific, as I've tried switching themes. May be a conflict with another modules. I'm running a quite a few javascripty modules at the moment. Will try removing one by one and update if I find a solution.

Firebug gives me the following

$(this).datepicker is not a function
date_popup()()date_popup.js?p (line 15)
(?)()()jquery.j...e3Q%3D%3D (line 1)
(?)()()jquery.j...e3Q%3D%3D (line 1)
(?)()()jquery.j...e3Q%3D%3D (line 1)
[Break on this error] .datepicker(datePopup.settings)

It's the same error, I just translated it from Dutch, but probably chose the wrong word; row should be line...

Removing the "Better Formats" module fixed the issue for me. Will post this to their issue queue.

If this is coming from another module I can't do anything about it.

Since I don't have "Better Formats" module installed I'm not sure if it is coming from another module...

I had the same issue just after installing the Money CCK field Conversion Dialog module and the Jquery UI module, so I guess is a conflict when loading the JQuery UI library. If I disable those modules then Date Picker is working again.

Confirmed - Jquery UI module causing conflict.

Might have something to do with this section of function jquery_ui_add in jquery_ui.module:

    // Load other files.
    if (!isset($loaded_files[$file])) {
      switch ($compression) {
        case 'none':
          $file_path = "$file.js";
          break;

        case 'pack':
          $file_path = "packed/$file.packed.js";
          break;

        case 'mini':
        default:
          $file_path = "minified/$file.min.js";
          break;
      }
      $js_path = $jquery_ui_path . '/' . $file_path;
      drupal_add_js($js_path);
      $loaded_files[$file] = $js_path;
    }

Dont have a solution but here's a workaround: assuming you have jQuery Update module installed, go to admin/settings/jquery_update and switch the compression type to none.

It would be more efficient to hack the module but thats not the drupal way :)

Hope this helps

#9 worked for me, thanks steammultimedia.

Using jQuery UI 1.2 (1.7.2) and the jQuery Update 2.x-dev (jQuery 1.3.2). I ended up disabling jQuery UI anyway as the calendar included with Date API looks better.

i'm using Date 6.x-2.6 and jQuery UI 6.x-1.3 . i just added the jQuery UI module per Date's new requirement, and was not seeing the popup datepicker/calendar at all.

only after some reading/poking did i realize i hadn't installed the jQuery UI library as well as the module (don't forget to RTFM!). so, be sure you download the correct version of the library (currently 1.6) from http://code.google.com/p/jquery-ui/
