Partial dates

Hi,

I am using Drupal 6.6 with CCK 2.1 and Date 2.0-rc6.

I wanted to create a date field in a node type with custom input format j/F/Y. However, I want to be able to submit partial dates, for example, if I don't know the month or day of the event, I want to fill the information I know (year or year and month) and still see the corresponding result. Is this possible? Right now when I leave any field blank it will assume a certain date producing incorrect information.
