I added this as 2.0 because my question is related to 2.0, but i am using 1.8. I use the date cck field to ask for the birthday of my users and display it on their profiles (advanced profile module). Everything works perfect, the problems appear due to the fact that i use a view with exposed filters to allow users to search for other users. Can i filter by age or by time ago in date 2.0? If not, can you tell me what might have gone wrong because i am not able to even filter by the year in date 1.8, it seems the year value doesn't get into views at all because i tried displaying the year field and it shows up as blank. Advanced profile which uses panels displays the field correctly.

There is not really a filter for that, I think there is a feature request for the D6 version (no new features are going into D5).
