After starting to use the Events module to create some calendar events for my site, I noticed that it wasn't set to accept repeating dates. However, when I went in to change the option in the Date settings, it is grayed out, stating "There is data for this field in the database. The field settings can no longer be changed."
I was able to find a patch online that would re-enable the time granularity, but not this.
Is there a patch to turn this back on, or perhaps a way to force it in the database? I would like to enable this functionality without creating a new field and starting over.
Thanks!

This would be useful, specially in a case where you already have some records in the database. I also experienced that I after enabling the date_repeat_field module I was not able to enable it on my content type. It was gray out. Hopefully It was in the beginning of my development and I had only one record. I delete the node with that content type (Event Calendar) and then I was able to enable the "repeating date" feature on my field.
