Ideally, I'd like to see support for unsupported types (as awkward as that sounds).

Basically, I'd like the ability to say "I understand that this field is unsupported -- ignore it."

Specifically, the issue I am encountering is the presence of blob fields [blob, longblob] (which I believe are supported as a Drupal data type based on https://www.drupal.org/node/159605) being forced into types that will not hold the data (i.e. int).

As I understand it, some of this may be related to the data type underpinnings offered by the Schema module; however, in the interests of flexibility an adjustment to the Data module would help.

The big win would be allowing the use of the Data Admin UI -- without adversely affecting the underlying field structure OR getting stuck having to NULL (or otherwise mangle) problem fields.
