We want to use the Dash Player with flashvideo player and have videos appear along the side.

Since flashvideo places the flv file as one of three attachments to a node, there doesn't seem to be a way to do it, at least not one that's obvious. We've been through the documentation but find that it is inaccurate in many places. Thanks. Before spending more time on this, is this even possible? And quick hints on how to make it happen?

Have you watched the new video install guides? http://www.tmtdigital.com/node/37 There currently is no guide covering integration with the Flashvideo Module, but they may still be helpful.

As for Flashvideo, it is possible to set up the player to work with this module, be sure to get the snapshots version as the recommended version is having some issues currently.

Flashvideo will create a video upload field for you as long as you enable it through Admin >> Flashvideo Settings. Enable the video upload for your content type. Flashvideo will create a thumbnail automatically (so no need to make a thumbnail field) then convert the video for you the next time the cron is run. Other than these differences the setup covered in the video tutorials will be the same.
