Wizard: Allow out of order access of steps

Hello,
I'm currently working on a project that needs a multi-form page, based on the example here:

The project requirements assume that the visitor can jump around the steps of a multi-page form as desired. The intended operation would be to have the the list of steps be links to their pages. If the visitor jumps to that step, the current form should as well, save before going to the step's page. I marked this as a feature request, but if it's already possible and I'm just not realizing it, I'd be glad for some suggestions about what to look into to change.
