Modal window does not stay open, redirects to /#

I had this working just fine, but it seems that since I upgraded to Drupal 6.19, the modal windows for Cool Aid will not stay open on any but the main page of my site. They open, then a second later the browser (IE, Firefox...) redirects to the main site page (actually http://example.com/drupal/#) and the modal closes. Note that at least in development, the site lives in a /drupal/ subfolder - also a recent change around the time of the Drupal upgrade, but after launch, it will be found at http://example.com. I don't know if that is related, but I have had other issues with the $base_path and such.

Some of my help messages are too long or too basic to be desired as an inline display, so I was really excited about this option. The Drupal upgrade may be coincidental, but I'm not sure what else might have changed and effected this behavior. Any ideas why this is no longer working properly for me? BTW, the Lightbox2 modals work just fine for other images on the site.
