The purpose of the Cookie Consent Notice module is to display a notification wherever there is content on a page that is hidden due to cookie settings. The notification includes a link that will allow the user to select the required cookies to be able to view the content that was hidden. The reasoning behind this was that it was not immediately visible to users that content was not being displayed, now there is a visual cue with a call to action to give the user control over what content is displayed based on their cookie settings selection. This module has been tested and used in conjunction with the Cookiebot module but we also hope to add compatibility with other cookie management packages in the future.

Features

  • Show users exactly where content was blocked due to cookie settings.
  • Lists the exact cookies required to view each content item.
  • Provides a link that users can click on to easily update their cookie settings.

Post-Installation

This module runs a straightforward script on each page as it is viewed that automatically detects all elements that are prevented from being displayed in which case the notification is displayed in it's place. No configuration is required.

Additional Requirements

This module requires jQuery to work. So far this module has only been used in conjunction with the Cookiebot module thus it is an assumed requirement - https://www.drupal.org/project/cookiebot/
