I am using Content Taxonomy on a few fields on my custom content type, but now I think I have to switch back to core taxonomy. The reason is that I need to use the og_vocab module to specify vocabularies specific to certain groups only. Og_vocab seems to only use the core taxonomy module for this.
Am I going to be able to do this without losing any data already entered and categorized? I just now noticed that there is an option to save the data to core taxonomy simultaneously, but I did NOT have that enabled before. Is it a retroactive setting?
thanks,

meecect commentedI solved this with the following. First I edited my content types and made sure that the checkbox was ticked for saving terms to the core taxonomy tables. Then, I installed the views_bulk_operations module. I then created a bulk view of the node type I was interested in. I simply used the 'save node' option on all nodes.
This essentially cause the nodes to be re-saved, and when they are re-saved, they add their taxonomy terms to the core tables. Then, you could delete your cck fields (if you wanted)
