Is this possible yet? ie: have a Gender (nodereference?) field, select list widget with the values Female or Male. When a user chooses one and it's on their profile page, it links to a View of other users with the same gender.

Do I just not know how to do it or is it not implemented yet? :(

Make "Gender" a taxonomy. Then, this will be supported out of the box, and can extended using Views.
