When I turn on Content Access (5.x.1.2, with acl 5.x.1.4) all pages become "access denied" unless logged in as administrator. I've checked these pages and most of them are checked for either EVERY role or for Authenticated User and Unauthenticated User.
Any idea what is causing this? What more info can I submit to help find the problem?

m29josh commentedI came across a similar issue. It seems like the Content Access module doesn't work for existing nodes.
I have multiple CCK types and changed the permissions through the Content Access UI so that anonymous users are only allowed to see page types. When I logout and enter the site as an anonymous user, I can see all the content (but I should only be able to see pages). Originally I thought the module wasn't working at all. Then I logged back in as admin and created an article (a CCK type that anonymous users are restricted from viewing). When I log out again and try and access this article as an anonymous user, I don't have access...so it worked like it was supposed to. The anonymous user has access to the old article, but not to the article I just created.
Does anybody know if there is a way to make this Content Access Module work with existing nodes?? I was looking at the node_access table in the DB and thought that I could possibly make a one-time change to the existing node permissions. But I couldn't figure out what some of the fields were in the table. In particular the fields gid and realm. Is this a good way to go about fixing this, or is there an easier way? If this is the way to do it, what are these fields referring to, so I know how this table works??

walker_643 commentedI have also experienced this issue, but with subtle differences. To reproduce:
- as admin, create a page (I add it to the menu)
- as anon, view the page. this works just fine
- login
- as user, view the page. this works fine as well
- as admin, add one user 'don' to the 'grant update access' list and submit
- login as don
- as don, view the page. this does NOT work. don no longer has view access
- you will find that no one other than admin as view access anymore
I tried unsuccessfully to backtrack:
- as admin, remove 'don' from the 'grant update access' list and submit. at this point, we should be back where we started
- as any non-admin user (don or anon), view the page. this still does not work for me
Let me know if there is any additional info I can provide. Thanks very much for your hard work!
