Problem/Motivation

The page that needs the most love of all the pages of d.o is without a doubt the beast https://www.drupal.org/download.

Because we think more options lead to more downloads we offer composer, tar gzip download , zip download, a temp local install howto and drupalpod hosted install and a local drupalpod. Yes, six ways of downloading Drupal.... But the page wasn't finished yet, it also needed 4 (!) call to action buttons. sigh

But there is also the text "Demo Drupal
Quickly create a temporary Drupal 8 demo application on your local machine by reading the Evaluator Guide."

Apart from the fact that this page needs a complete revamp and some procedures that a page should never have more than 2 CTA, could someone with the right rights at least change the "Drupal 8" to "Drupal 9"?

+1, this page could use some UX love. The various options are hard to distinguish.

Also: the menu item for /download is called "Download & Extend". The page itself is about Download and uhm... a lot of other things except Extend.

+1, also the Getting Started section mentions Drupal 8 specifically:

After it's up and running, learn how to plan, extend, and customize a Drupal 8 application by reading the Drupal 8 User Guide.

I guess it might be easiest to remove the major version number so it's always up to date.

I think this can be closed. All links refer simply to "latest" and all drupal versions currently state 10 instead of 8 or 9. Unless I'm missing something :)
