Thistleseer has uploaded seven community case studies recently, which i have looked over and made the odd suggestion. On the whole, most of them are adequate enough though i'd prefer they contained some key modules. I think i'll make this request.

One case study I'm not sure what to do with, is this one: http://drupal.org/node/1840232. It relates to an Intranet so the author has entered a dud URL http://drupal.org/- . The real URL is https://intranet.n-va.be but this just takes us to a login page. I'm tempted to hide the case study, but the author asked for advice so I said I'd get back to her.

Non-English titles

I added a few English translations to some case study titles and updated their revision log to reflect this. Is that a reasonable thing to do?

Current guidelines state:
'... Use only the name of the site you are writing about.'

Some authors appear to misread this as 'use only the URL of the site', which often produces dull or meaningless titles. We advise against words like "case study" and "success story", which is absolutely right, but should I update the guidelines to allow some wriggle room?

Summary

I'll be contacting authors and hiding the 'poor' list, unless otherwise advised.

Would like some second opinions on the borderlines and on the Featured potentials.

There are a few case study promotions awaiting author input. I'm going to run through them over the next week or two and make some updates myself. See if I can't nudge the authors.

Display of original post came to an abrupt and curious end on this line: http://drupal.org/node/1801062 and http://drupal.org/node/1798612 (i had no 'and', originally).

Thistleseer case studies: yes, modules would be good.

Intranet case study: I think it would be good to add real url, so we could at least see website actually exists. And also a note below the url, sort of: "this website is an intranet, so you won't be able to login and browse it. Screenshots of various pages provided at the bottom of the case study." And then add like 5+ screenshots of different pages to the case study. Having drupal.org as a url is confusing.

Agree that case studies in "poor" list require more details and texts.
One of them though - Cashback on hotel bookings - I think we deleted similar one some time ago, here is an issue #1761870: "Cash back on hotel reservation" case study.

"Borderline" list: I think they are roughly similar to most of the "poor" list.
I'd advice for both lists to first contact and give authors 1-2 weeks to improve the case study, and only after that hide them. Except for obvious advertising e.g. Cashback, or when case study has no text at all.

"Promotion potentials": I think 2 first ones look promising.

Looks ok to me.

... Use only the name of the site you are writing about.

Maybe we should change this to "only the title of the site..."?

Thanks tvn, I've pointed Thistleseer to this issue and begun hiding / contacting poor case studies / authors.

I'll action the other bits too.

I'll update the original post as I go.
