Collaboration with Drupal CRM

Problem/Motivation

Drupal CRM is gaining traction as the modern foundation upon which to build CRMs in Drupal. I'm reaching out to see if there's an opportunity to collaborate and avoid duplicating efforts.

Notably, Drupal CRM has a distinct entity type, "Contact", whose "Person" bundle can optionally be mapped to a Drupal User. The fields on the Person bundle can be optionally mapped to the User entity. I mention this detail because it somewhat bridges the "Contact entity" approach with the Contacts project's User-based approach.

There's work underway to generalize the Entity Registration module to support any entity type (e.g. CRM Contact) as registrants. Entity Registration already has Commerce support. There have also been recent discussions to leverage the Event module and Event Ticketing, which appears to be relevant to some recent Contacts project ecosystem work.
