Why field group field does not show up in the DEPENDENT list?

In the description column list, I see the options of "collapsed" and "expanded", but the field group added by the module field_group does not show in the DEPENDENT list. Why? I cannot figure out to which fields "collapsed" and "expanded" can apply to.
