How to track additional data, for example category of product or color?

I'd like to know about this too. I was looking at the code of the .module file and there is a section where it sets of the item list for commerce_product with the 'name' 'qty' etc.

If we have a custom field, can we add it to this list? I know that if you are sending additional data to Google, you need to also configure Google to recognize it. For me, I have a specific field for product title, that is different than the default product title field. So I would like to replace the current 'name' value with a different field.

Look at attached screenshots. In google analytics - conversations - ecommerce - product performance we have "product" data and "product sku", but no category and brand data. It requires additional configuration or some patch?
