I have a simple node type "product" that references the product type in a product_reference field.

With version 7.x-1.3+35-dev, if i create a view mode for the node type (called for example wishlist), a new view mode called "Node: Wishlist" appeared in the product type.

With version 1.3 this is broken, custom view modes are working no more, and errors showing up.

undefined index: in field_extra_fields_get_display() (line 693 of ..../sites/all/modules/field/field.module).

If I'm reading your issue correctly, all I see you saying is that we've fixed a bug. : P

7.x-1.3+35-dev is 35 commits later than the tagged 1.3 release, and one of those commits resolved a hook ordering issue that caused an incompatibility with Display Suite.
