As of now I have a view that exports a .xls file of all the days orders. Is there any way that I can automatically send that file off in an email say at the end of the day? I tried retrieving it with other server side scripts and curl but had issues . Any recommended modules or advice?

Sorry, not really sure how you'd go about doing that, but I'm sure it's possible with a good ol' custom module. It's not a feature to be added to Drupal Commerce itself, so you might just search the Drupal forums in general or other modules that deal specifically with creating files server side and e-mailing them.

Just write a basic shell script (E.g http://www.zedwood.com/article/103/bash-send-mail-with-an-attachment) which sends an email with an attachment.

Setup a CRON with your host provider to execute your shell script at a certain point each evening which should then email you your xls file attached at a certain time each day. done.
