Select box is appearing instead of checkbox for an end user

Hi, trying to allow anonymous users to get notifications on their comments (not the whole post), so only this feature is on. User interface get a select box with options:
-nothing;
-just reply to my comment.

So, no checkbox, a select box instead. Is it possible to get a checkbox instead?
