There are a few modules providing functionality for webcomics. Until Comicdrop is released it will be hard to tell if there is any overlap. Similar modules should at least be mentioned in documentation.

Thanks for letting me know - apparently my google-fu was weak for me this evening - I forgot to scan prior listings cause I wanted to get this idea out of my head.

On a skim of the modules you've listed:

pageflip seems to be outside of the webcomic realm. It's pretty heavy duty and involves a flash interface, and is D6 though it looks likely to be updated in the future. I suspect there may be some overlap there in pagination techniques only the end users are distinctly different with different needs. I'm targeting the webcomic artists directly in competition with Comicpress.

comicview, webcomic both are D5 (!?) modules, well out of date and abandoned. Given that it looks like comicdrop has more of the expected webcomic features than either of those, I suspect making an update path from the abandoned modules to this one would the best approach for those. But I'm not sure anyone on D5 is going to be updating to D7 anytime soon, so potentially wasted effort there?

And lastly, presentation like pageflip, seems to overlap only in the pagination concept. There's more to comicdrop than just page navigation.

Comicdrop includes at the moment a calendar, archive page, tagging block and a 'easy button' feature to get a fresh site configured and ready to go without hassling a non-technical user. I'm sure as I get some artists taking it on a test run that more feature requests will come in.
