XerraX commentedthe latest non-public beta version of this module:
http://drupal.org/project/smfforum
does exactly the same, maybe you should merge?
elia commentedI start this project for D6 - http://drupal.org/node/802504
Thanks for link on smfforum - I will learn it.

XerraX commentedI am using smfforum for user login and registration. I already have the lastet non public beta with the new comments in smf function, but its very buggy.
Can i use both modules? smfforum for login and yours for comments?
and how does your module works? does it only crosslink users while commenting or always when they login?
i dont want to produce an overkill in my db.

Yes. You can. But I will finish user's functions in nearest time.

In present time - only linking authors of comments. Full functionality for users will release shared login like in com2vb

XerraX commentedthanks for the infos :-)
In the readme of the module i saw you want help building a todo list.
One of the big problems of the "smfforum" module is the profile fields linking. the standart profile fields getting linked, but extra/custom fields cant be linked somehow.
i always wanted an option (checkbox) that, if the users open their profile in drupal, they will be redirected to the smf profile, so they dont have to manage two profiles. maybe this something for the todolist...

achton+1 for only one profile. Perhaps an option to redirect either way, in case someone would rather use the Drupal profiles.

leahmd commentedI'm an admin for a large drupal 5/smf 1.0 integrated site using smfforum module (back-ported myself) and I've been developing another drupal site to integrate with another very big smf board D6/SMF 1.1, I'm very excited to see this new smf module being developed.
One feature request that has been ignored for years with the smfforum module is a request to map smf membergroups to drupal roles. I hope you'll consider adding it to this modules features if a complete user integration is a direction you'll continue to follow. Everyone would benefit hugely from that one feature addition.

Ok. It's possible to add displaying of forum's profile fields in Drupal.

Can you explain your request? What you are waiting from this mapping?
leahmd commentedWe would very much like to use Drupal roles based on forum membergroups, to allow/deny Drupal content creation based on the member's primary post group and also use of additional premium Drupal content access gained for those who are in a secondary SMF group such as Donating Members where the donation systems are already established.

XerraX commentedi stop hoping there will be a usable release any time in the future... the cake is a lie...
leahmd commentedHmm, well I recently rolled my own module to map membergroups to Drupal roles with smfforum.
